FADA 1000 Streamliner
3/12/2002 6:15:00 AMJeff Buda
I recently acquired a Fada 1000 Catalin. I obviously wish to refurbish this attractive set, however, the tube lineup does not match Riders Vol. 15. The back cover includes a drawing of the tube layout including the following tubes:
12BE6
12BA6 (2)
12AT6
35L6
35W4
Five of these 6 tube sockets are subminature and one Octal. Where it lists the 35L6 is a subminature socket, but I believe this tube is available only as a Octal. Conversely, where it lists a 12BA6 is the Octal socket. Again, I believe this to only be subminature! Was there another version of the Fada 1000? There must be a later schematic!!!Help!!

Hi Jeff

Different tubes were used in these radios. Check out the schematic on nostalgiaair. All tubes are octal. There are miniature tubes for each octal type. 12BA6 is the same as 12SK7. 35B5 & 35C5 is the same as 35L6. 35B5 & 35C5 have different socket wiring. Schematic should be the same, just pin numbers will be different. These can be found in a tube manual.
