Early Transistor Radio Battery

Guys:

Just got a VERY small RCA pocket transistor radio from a friend. It takes an RCA VS149 4 volt battery. Anyone know of a cross reference to find a battery that would work? The battery is tubular and roughly 3 inches long.

There was a discussion on this on ARF some time back:

Thats a tough one. You might be able to get away with 3 AA or C batteries temporarly in series, which gives 4.5V (if you add a diode, in series it will drop it down to 3.9V), or perhaps a 3.6V lithium or cordless phone type battery might work with slightly less power and volume.
