Hello,
I have a radio that about two minutes after switch on ,the volume fades for a while and then slowly comes back to about half what it was.
Any thoughts please.

Test all of the tubes and if they check out OK but you still have the problem, post the make and model of your set and what (if anything) has been done to it repair-wise. This symptom has several potential causes beside the obvious one (bad tube or tubes) and knowing what the exact radio is will help narrow down the possibilities.

The set is a Brunswick Balke Collander no 14.

Thanks again CV it was a tube,but why did it have to be a 45.
Why not a cheapie.

Try resoldering pins, especially large ones on your 45. A bad connection can make a tube go up and down in volume.
