Hi:
Have a General Electric Model A63 radio (Riders 16 GE 6-9 to 6-13)that has an unusual interference problem that happens at certain points thru out the entire range of the AM dial. Best that I can describe it is like a tunable buzzing distortion. So as you begin the tuning process you get normal staic then you tune into one these distortion spots then tune out of it into normal static again until you reach your next station. This happens all thru out the AM dial. The stations when selected all play really well and clear. What make this frusrating is that I have had AM band intereference issues in the past with other radios but the interference was constant all thru out the dial and still heard when stations where reached. This is not the case here. Its almost like you are tuning into these various intereference points like you would a station.
I have tried diffent electrical outlets with no success.
Also these forms of distortion points are not present on the short wave band at all. Thank you.

I would say try a different building...it sounds to me like something that is "in the air" rather than in the radio. I installed a touch dimming lamp lamp in my bedroom, and started to have all kind of problems with AM radio all over my house. There was a program I liked to listen to from Macon (I live just outside of Atlanta) and the lamp dimmers put out enough 940 kHz to totally override WMAZ in Macon.
