12AX7 is a popular audio mixing tube and often used as a preamp tube in guitar amps. I think they are still made today actually.

Not sure why this was posted without a title? Yes 12AX7's are still being manufactured. This tube has become expensive due to amplifier demand. You can still find 12AX7 for very little at swap meets, flea markets and older TVs from 1950's.
