In looking at a schematic for a short-wave set, there is a noise limiter installed on a factory set. The (output?) from the second group of coils (cans) after the 12BA6 goes to only one diode of a 12AV6. The other diode goes to the grid of the 12A6,through a resistor & then to ground. How does a noise limiter work & would it work on all sets? I'm thinking about static when there are sky (atmospheric) disturbances. Would a home "brew" work as well as a factory installed "brew"? Even so, how effective is a factory installed set-up (how much static can a noise limiter remove, & how does it work?
