Transistors

I am refurbishing an old xstr stereo amp andddropped a piece of wire in it and blew an output transistor. It is an oddball D313D, but research indicates a TIP41C will be an excellent and better replacement. I would like to give even a small amont of my business to a distributer that everyone likes best, maybe someday I could give a lot of business,as people at my local hardware store (refinishing the cabinet) are very interesting in someone in town who can repair vintage (before surface mount) equipment, so I might be back in theh commercial repair business. I have bought from Mouser, Allied, Newark and others in the past, and have been happy with all, but I would like to go with the rest of the gang, you knowm, the "In with the in crowd" thing.
From whom would you buy the transistors?

On that type of equipment . . . . .der "Mouse House" . . . by all means.
Mainly due to their wide stock level and the more importance of no minimum order level along with very LOW shipping costs.
Agree . . . with the Tipsy 41 CEEEEE choice , but I would also change its circuits symmetrical companion, as they are certainly used in totem pole design.
Its probably going to be a 42 CEEEE.

:Sir Edd:

Oh, yes, I definately intend to replace all four trans-a-sistors. In my employed days, we got excellent service from all our suppliers, I forgot to include "Nark" and "Digital Key", but we were a multi-billion Atlanta airline and we were treated like big tippers in a small cafe. Now I am just a poor retired black box fixer (we called every box in a plane a "black box" not just the recorders), but the idea of going back to work on tube and thru hole semiconductor work is sounding kinda interesting. NO SMT!!! I couldn't fix that stuff with the proper equipment.

:Check out Jemeco Electronics, at Jameco.com. They are easy to work with, and have low prices on small quantities. EdM
