Hi,

It has been a while since I have posted on Nostalgia Air. It is goog to see this website is still going strong.

I am looking for the dial chord stringing diagram for a 1939-40 RCA Victor, Model A-34 (Canadian Made).

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Gary

:If you do Facebook there are a couple of groups that have at least a few Canadian collectors regularly posting. Try Antique Radios and I collect Antique Radios in a search and perhaps someone will respond and help.

:There isn't a dial cord diagram for the RCA Victor A-34. The radio does not cross to another manufacturer. I went through the service manual looking at model numbers lower and higher than your A-34. I came up with two basic styles used .Here is a link to a Skydrive folder. Just copy and paste it in your browser.

Hi Bob,
Thanks for the drawings. Unfortunately, no match!
The third drawing is a similar configuration in that the tuning cap drive pulley is on the side, perpendicular to the dial scale. However, there are no pulleys on the side of the radio, as shown in your drawing. I have also looked through all of my Canadian RCA books without success. I am going to attempt to string it myself and will post a diagram. One problem is that there is, what appears to be, an empty pulley shaft on the front of the radio!

I will keep you posted.

If anyone is interested I searched through all of the dial cord diagrams that I have and found one that was very close.

It was from a Montgomery Ward (Airline) Model 62-704 (Riders Volume 10, page 607.
