I am working on a model 6163 radio. It had two electrolytic caps, grounds tied together and go to a 6k7 tube. There is no identification on either cap except for the mfg. Solor. One says 5893A and also A9, the other says 5780 and also B9. The schematic has no info either. How do I determine the replacement in this?

Grounds tied together? Looks to me like the + sides are tied together, one cap - side goes to chassis ground, other cap - side goes to hot (ungrounded) side of the speaker field coil.
30 uF for both would probably work OK. 250 VDC or better.

First, it looks like one electrolytic cap goes to ground, the other goes thru a choke to ground on the schematic. AFA replacement value, I would start with a 350 volt 20 mfd cap and see how it filters, then go up or down from that, and see what voltage it sees for a proper VDC rating. If the choke was removed, that would require more mfd for filtering than originally design anyway.

Sorry CV, while I was writing, your post got in...Other forum have an alert that shows you another post came in before it lets you post what your working on., to avoid what just happened. BTW--that was a field coil, as you mentioned, not a choke I thought.
