dial bulb

Just getting started on my first restoration project. Need to know what size dial bulb is used in an RCA R-52. The socket seems large for a dial bulb.

It appears to be a 115 volt bulb, so it is probably something like a sewing-machine lamp or a night-light
bulb. Is it a bayonet or screw-thread base?

Agree, the light is 115 volts. How about using a small Christmas Tree light like ones from 20 years ago?

Here is a place selling bulbs. Use low wattage (3 or 5 watts) so nothing is damaged from heat.

:
E10 is the standard small screw type base (C5).
E12 is the 'night light' sized bulb (C7)
E14 is the typical candelabra bulb (C9)
E26 is a standard ('medium base') bulb used in most lamps (A19).

If it is an E12 socket and is 115V you can get LED versions from most stores these days they sell them for night lights. The same is true for the E14 socketed bulbs often used in candelabra style lights and for the E26 socket as well.

The number after the "E" is the approximate size in millimeters of the bulb base.
