I recently bought one of those handheld frequency counters off eBay. It has two ranges, one being at 50 ohm impedance which I believe is through the whip antenna. The other range is measured through 1m ohm impedance. How is that feed obtained say from a sig gen to check output?

Connect a 0.002 uF cap from the sig gen output to the input port of your choice on the counter.
