#55 indicator lamp

Guys:

Anyone have a #55 indicator bulb? This is a 7 volt, bayonet type used in the radio I am currently working on. I tried to order some online but the shipping costs are killing me - I'd rather pay someone here for several pieces, including mailing cost. Thanks in advance for any conaideration.

Hi -

Have you tried http://www.bulbtown.com ? I looked up the #55 and one blub shipped to me would be $3.86, .66 + 3.20 S/H, total with shipping or $12.59 for a box of 10. I don't think that is too bad compared to most suppliers.

Hi Jerry,
I think Bulb town has the bulb for the GE 508 I am working on. I just placed the order. 1000bulbs didn't have it.

Best regards,

Hi Lou, Try Ace Hardware if you have one in your area. I get most of my bulbs from them. They have them with the flashlight/appliance boxes in the hardware section. Good Luck, George T

:Thanks Guys - good suggestions.

Well once upon a time I had a number of "mom and pop" hardware stores that easily had stuff like this, not to mention a place called Linear Electronics where I could get ANY tubes of ANY era. BUT those days are GONE.

: That WAS a bulb used in cars up to about the mid-50's. Check your local car parts stores. After the mid-50's they went to 12 volts.
