Curves for 6G6G tube

Folks,

Have a few WWII surplus 6G6Gs and wondered if anyone had design curves for this low wattage audio pentode?

Thanks

Rob

Hi Rob

Use curves of the more modern 6AK6 for 6G6G.

12K5 was operated with grid #1 tied to 12 volts and grid #2 input. Don Black and I recently discussed this tube. Don may reply to you 12K5 posing.

Hey Norm,

Thanks for the reply. Luckily I've got one of the few RCA Tube Manuals that include the 12K5 so I've got some operation specs. What I don't understand is how it works. Is g1 wound really "open" so it will capture few electrons - sort of an "accelerator" grid before the control grid?
If you communicate with Don please get him to relay any info - I'm considering crafting a "portable" micro-power amp using this bottle and other 12V Ep tubes - might power it with camcorder gel cells.

Hi Rob, You might condider using the 12AL8, that has the same output tube as the 12K5 but also includes a matching triode AF tube to drive it. The 12U7 may also be useful, it's a twin triode for 12 volt operation. If you want to be really inovative, how about push pull with a pair of these tubes, should get 100 mw or so. Interesting exercise. I'll scan the circuit for the 12AL8 from a data book and send you, shows typical operation.
Don Black.
