RCA KCS47A Chassis

Hello All,
I want to test the chassis. But I'm having a difficult time getting the yoke and picture tube into position so that it doesn't block the controls and pressure isn't being put on the neck of the picture tube. I don't have the cabinet here. There has to be a way to do this. I did have it set up to work a long time ago. But I forgot how I set it up.
Do I put the chassis on it's side? I'll think of something. Maybe I need to build a frame out of plywood and a stand? Too elaborate?
If anyone knows. Please let me know.

Thanks,

Dave

Similar scenario I think....

Some years ago I worked on a Zenith porthole that when the chassis was removed from the cabinet the CRT was no longer supported.

My particular solution was to use bungee cords.....arranged tightly to provide a SECURE mating of the CRT & Chassis. It worked fine for me, enabled me to work with the chassis on it's side.

Dennis,
This picture tube is cemented into a large plastic frame in front and the yoke/ion trap are in a large frame with three metal arms on it that probably bolt to the inside of the front of the cabinet. There is no way to strap this 16 inch tube to the chassis, like you have pictured. It's too huge to do that.

Thanks,

Dave

Dennis,
The service data is here:

But it really doesn't show what the picture tube looks like.
