Permanent magnet speakers
11/17/2013 5:31:45 PMMitch
Hello everyone,

I am looking to replenish my 4" - 6" permanent magnet speaker supply.

Anyone know of a web site that sells these basic speakers? (mine were from old radios)

Thank you,

Mitch

Hi Mitch,
I am glad you asked. I have had the same problem, lots of bad speakers and no replacements. Reconing costs $35, and doesn't seem worth it for a small speaker.
I considered trying to learn how to rcone speakers myself. Parts are available from http://www.mwaspeakerparts.com/. However, you need to convince them that you are serious about reconing speakers and know what you are doing before they sell.
I found a source for 4 ohm 4 inch speakers but the speakers did not have good sound quality.

Best regards,

Bill Grimm

Google "speakers". Either 4- or 8-ohm, you won't tell the difference. Yes, size, does matter.
