been recapped and some res. changed.problem is volume,it has on a scale of 1 to 10 it has a 5. where do i start to look.

Start by minutely inspecting every part that was changed. Is each part end connected to the right place? Do the solder joints look good? Are the part values correct? Are there solder splashes that might be causing a high-resistance short?

If the radio had good volume before you recapped it, almost certainly its present problem is due to a workmanship error. If you don't know if it had good volume before extensive part replacement was performed, the sky's the limit for possible causes.

Hi, if you put your finger on the grid cap of the 6A8G tube does your volume increase? More than likely it is a resistor. Mine had about half volume and if I remember right it was resistor 43 buried in the right rear corner of the chassis with the chassis front facing away from you. It is a hard one to see it seems to me it is under the volume control. Good Luck, George T
