I have carefully recapped this radio. When I turn it on I get an immediate hum before the tubes even warm up. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

By the schematic, no power can get to the speaker until tubes warm up. Check wiring around 25Z6 tube. An electrolytic filter cap may have been connected to the wrong place?

Ok, I found that c43 was touching pin 2 of 25lg. The hum has stopped. Time to check the resistors.
