This radio has been working on my bench for three days now receiving both the BC and SW bands. Thanks to you all that have helped me with this monster. 26 tubes and many modules to try to test for RF signals.
I never hedged on a bet but had to wait for a tube, had a bad ballast tube, bad voltage regulator tube and a bad 6AK5 RF tube. Bill set that part straight, replaced it and the monster came alive.
Edd, provided incite on how this radio was to be set up to even listen for a station, I had no idea of how it should work. He also provided a 20th century manual.
Have BC/AM, SW, BFO and good VFO operations tonight. If you have one of these just turn the BFO switch on.
Surprise, Surprise!!
I will try to post photos of this radio, I am also moving this radio to my shop/store front in town before I call the owner and return it to him.

All comments welcome on this one gentlemen.
That's the best receiver and noticed it still has original meters. Later receivers had meters removed before being surplussed. They are radio active. No big deal, so were watches that glowed in the dark.
Even though it's complicated fairly easy to align. Adjustment frequencies are marked.

The blind Navy man came into my shop with his wife this weekend to pick the boat anchor up. It has been working in my shop for weeks now, I did not want it back so I had to be sure it played every day for weeks.
We put him in a chair in front of the radio and told him it had power to it, please try it out.
He moved his hands across the front of it and turned it on to the AGC position, then like a man who could see set all of the controls, asked his wife where the settings were for the MEG and Kilo Hz and began to tune in stations across the whole band width.
He got BFO, (said it was good to hear again)?
Edd, he was a part of the MARS something? But said he would read your manual in brail.
He has a 94 foot antenna for this radio at home and was very happy to have it back and working.
I seem to get some of these repairs (not restorations) because I live in a community that the average age is 60 plus years as I am.
I love this hobby and enjoy bringing these old radios back to life for people.
I appreciate this site and have great respect for all that post on it.
Thank you so much for the support,
Mitch
Best regards,
