Hello!
I have a Heathkit Model 10-18, and had to replace the fuse holder. The fuse and cap were missing. I have a 3amp-slow blow in the unit now.
My question is: will the 3amp fuse safe?
Thank you kindly!

Daniel,
The schematic shows a 1-amp slow blow.

3 amp SB is "safer" than a length of copper bus wire jammed in the holder, but not much. You can incur quite a bit of equipment damage before the fuse pops by using a fuse that is oversized for the application.

If the correct-size fuse blows frequently, it's a sign that there's a problem- such as deteriorated (leaky) power supply filter caps- in the equipment.
