Turntable ceramic cartridge
9/15/2013 6:00:51 PMVianney
Hi to all,

I have restored 2 combo radio sets with turntables.

Unfortunately the ceramic cartridges are no good.
I think it's crystal cartridges.

Lately, i bought 4 NOS ceramic cartridge on Ebay, but they are not good either.

Do you have a good source to buy ceramic turntable cartridges ?

Thanks

What year is your phonograph? It most likely has a salt crystal cartridge. A ceramic has around 1 volt of output, and the crystal type has around 3 volts. You will need a preamp to make the ceramic work.

Hi warren,

On one radio set, i need a ceramic cartridge, because the radio has a phono preamp with a 6SJ7.

The other radio has no preamp, and need a crystal cartridge.

Both phonographs are from around 1940

-one play only 78 turns.
-The other one has 3 speeds.
