I have an RCA model t7-5 I replaced all caps. Do I have to replace big can condensers on top to they look OK should I fire up is it ok

Hi Ron, Those are your electrolytic capacitors if you can test them and they are within tolorance you could use them, but the general rule is they should be replaced. You can leave them inplace on the chassis and install the new electrolytics under the chassis or gut the cans and stuff them with the new stuff. Totally up to you. But at least check them for tolorance if you plan on using them. Did the radio work before you recapped and if it hummed it is probably due to those cans. Good Luck, George T

Replace the electrolytics, it is not worth taking a chance on using them.
