The Transoceanic book by Bryant and Cones lists the Y600 model sold in 1956-57. The L suffix may be for the leather covering? But try here: http://www.transoceanic.nostalgiaair.org/

Me thinks that T for Transoceanic . . . . . as in T600L would be more in line for its model number. . . .and to clinch it . . .

its using the 6T40 or 6T41 chassis.

Confirm my info below . . . .

(Hint . . .hint . .. do the dial pointer to pulley portion first )

Frankly, I like pigs. . . . since dogs look up to us. . . . and cats look down on us. . . . . pigs just treat us as equals.

The Transoceanic Model T600 was produced in 1955. The Y600 in 1956-57. Two separate models. Maybe they had the same dial stringing?
