sorry for the re post but for some reason i can not get into the original post made on here a few days ago. original message... hi all. i picked up this radio today at a local flea market. just couldn't resist lol. philco tropic model A.3751 it seems to be in good working order. and at some point Im going to tare it down and give it the full overhaul.. Im having trouble finding info on it . tried looking on http://www.nostalgiaair.org/ they don't seem to have this model. i have a few quick pics http://s1132.photobucket.com/user/ajc31 ... ary/Philco sorry they aren't the best quality . im guessing its from the 50s ? thanks in advance for any info you can give me. (original message end). i had chance to get better more detailed photos http://s1132.photobucket.com/user/ajc31980/library/Philco and the tube numbers as well. ECH81,EF98,EBDF80,EL84,EZ80. I dont know if this will help any? it appears that it wasn't made in the USA. and that it was made in GT. Britian. it also has 2 different voltage selectors. one for the turntable and one fore the amp/ receiver . also sorry for taking so long to reply was having some internet issues .

OK, I got that link to your photos to work. I do see the labels that refer to Gt. Britain, although the cabinet and tuning dial styling suggests post-war German to me. There is a UK-based antique radio forum which might be of help. I don't have its URL handy, but you should be able to Google for it - unless somebody here can post it.

In 2006 someone gave me "Vintage-Radio.net" as a British website to post a question. They gave me some helpful information about an unusual Vidor radio. You might also try Frank Goddard via "nostalgicradio@fsmail.net".
