need Motorola vibrator substitute #
8/24/2013 1:13:36 PMEddie
I can't find any cross references for my car radio vibrator for a 1949 Motorola CR8 radio. The vibrator is a Motorola 48B3333.

By the way - I have a Supreme C-1 vibrator and need to know what it crosses to in Mallory or Radiart or whatever. That one came out of a 1941 radio which is supposed to use a Delco 8539 / Mallory 839 - but I wonder if Supreme C-1 is a valid substitute.

Thanks for help,
Eddie

Eddie,
The Mallory equivalent for the 48B3333 is 859.

I notice that Radiart lists # 5300, 5301, 5308, 5340M, 5341M, and 5342M all with the same pinout, current rating, and frequency. Is there much risk in substituting freely between all of these types? (All these types are 6V vibrators.)

Most 4 pin, 6 volt, vibrators are interchangeable. Some vibrators use 3 pins, others all 4. Even these are usually interchangeable in a car radio.
