volume real low

Hi I got a 136E aircastle powers up OK but volume is real low when I turn up all the way I did align unit still no volume hear music real low can speaker be bad?

Yes, the speaker could be bad. Field coils can become shorted and then fail to produce an adequate magnetic field. Try a PM speaker for temporary and see if it comes up strong. That will tell you.

Have you tried measuring the B+ and other voltages?

If you touch the center lead of the vol control does the audio sound loud? If so then maybe the RF signal is weak.

Check coupling capacitor from output driver tube stage to input of final tube It could be leaky check with ohm meter if measures low resistance that cap is almost shorted. I repaired a radio that had low audio it was this cap that was bad. Also, check output transformer to speaker could also be defective winding(s) shorted together.
