Old radio tubes
4/2/1999 12:01:58 AMTracy White
My father has boxes of old radio tubes which he
acquired after radio and television school and when he
started working with repairing radios. My mom thinks
that some of these old tubes would have some value.
Does anyone know if there is a market for old radio
tubes. You are talking to a novice here.

Hi- Tubes, in general, have quite a variance of value.
They can range from "give-away" to upwards of $100.00
apiece, if new and boxed.
It depends upon type, (application) rarity, popularity within
the hobby.
The best way to estimate their value is to visit
websites dedicated to the commercial sale of tubes.
Such as, Electron Tube Enterprises, Vacuum Tubes Inc.,
Antique Electronic Supply, etc.
They post price lists, (retail), that should provide
you with a fair market value.
Wholesale to retailers, as I have done, nets about 30-50% of retail.
Hope this helps.- Dennis

I am looking for old radio tubes. The type used in three tube and five tube superhetrodyne radios used in the 1950s. I am interested in older radio bodies in the same era.

My brother-in-law passed away a month ago at the age of seventy five and I was given the job to assist my sister to sell or dispose of old items to help her
pay funeral expenses.
