CORONADO (Gamble- Skogmo) Mfg substitute , ED'S help
6/16/2013 5:15:18 PMRAYMOND(107101:0)
I have this CORONADO Musette model 94RA33-43-8130 on the desk-top & a substitute model almost exactly like that model in the house that I'm working on. The difference between the two are the tubes & the dial scale. The CORONADO uses OCTAL tubes & has a plain dial scale. My odd-ball has minature tubes & a stylish dial scale. The circuitries are practially the same. The tube locations are the same. The tuner is the same. The oscillator coil is the same. Here's the question: I know that BELMONT, STEWART-WARNER, & WELLS-GARDNER made some of their sets. Who else could have made them for GAMBLE-SKOGMO under the CORONADO brand???????????? This a VERY GOOD one for ED! There is a picture on the RADIO ARCHIVES 11,000 identified sets of this CORONADO but not the odd-ball set. I have even checked the un-identified sets, nothing. The cases of both sets are exactly alike. There are part numbers on some parts that are readable, the speaker, tuner, & kinda readable on the I.F. cans. Each Mfg. had their own way of part numbering. One of my CORONADO sets had a STEWART- WARNER filter cap. marker as such. The other CORONADO had a BELMONT filter cap. marked as such. Another CORONADO had WELLS-GARDNER tubes in it. Can ED come up with any more ideas (or anyone else?) I have figured out SEARS mfg., & MONKEY-WARDS mfg. companies. GAMBLES must have had a screw-ball system. Mine is a little more stylish than the GAMBLES model. Also it has a YELLOW case. I got it when I was in high school & there WAS NO BACK. Afew years ago I did get it working but very faintly. Then I didn't have access to the internet but now I do. Could someone help out?. Much appreciated.

: I might add to my previous note: I have two more CORONADO's at home, model 43-8330 made by G.E. & the other is a model 675A made by ????. I still would appreciate some help on my odd-ball 'CORONADO' with the yellow case & made by some other company that I don't know about. It's the same as the CORONADO MUSETTE 94RA33-43-8130!!!! Any other ideas???? who made sets for GAMBLE-SKOGMO besides BELMONT, G.E., STEWART-WARNER & WELLS-GARDNER????. I'm not to concerned about the 675A because I'm not working on it now. But if someone has any ideas who made that one, I sure WON'T put it on the "back burner". Thank's a lot for any help.

: Thank you VERY,VERY much for responding. I have already checked the KINGSTON list. They were all built pre-34. So I didn't even bother to look at the circuitry. Mine was built about the same time (probably right next to each other) as the CORONADO 94RA33-43-8130 set.The CORONADO is NEARLY a perfect duplicate of mf "odd-ball".Have looked at MFG. on the internet-havent come up with anything yet. Joke- when I do,-I think the whole world will know!
