Hello,

Has anyone worked on one of these or would anyone know if the long pin 01A tubes will fit in it, or the short pin tubes only. I get confused over UV and UX.

Thank you,

Mitch

Long (UX) or short (UV) pin tubes will fit. Short pin tubes were original for twist type sockets. When long pins came out they would still fit into these sockets. Bayonet pin was arranged so height was correct. Short pin tubes will not work in standard plug in type sockets.

To make this simple, you can use 01A short or long pin in this radio.

Here is a link for saving 01A tubes. This wafer can be used with other working tubes. Advantage is low current draw. Simulates a triode tube well.
