This old set is showing signs of sweet music with the exception that the G2 speaker cone is not in the best of shape and is vibrating. Any suggestions to resolve or does anyone have a G2 speaker available. Thanks for the help

Hi Bill

If your speaker has tears use a rubber cement or RTV to mend them. If the cone is rubbing it can be centered. Sometimes the outside edge of a speaker becomes detached. This can be glued.

Hi,

I have actually found a material that works much better than rubber cement, or RTV.

For tears in the paper cone, or to attach to a leather surround, I find that "Plumber's Goop" works much better. It is heavier bodied than rubber cement, but flows easier than RTV, and is much more flexible when it has cured. The material is the right consistency to allow you to merely apply the materiel with a toothpick to the torn edge, you do not need to feather outward on the paper for strength.

If the speaker has become loose from the metal frame, "Duco General Purpose cement", "Ambroid", or even 3M Weatherstrip and Trim Adhesive work here. The first two are approximately the same material as the original manufacture for cementing the cone to the frame.
