What kind of GE is it or what is (are) the output tube(s)? There are any number of places to get an output transformer, some are hard to find, others are not.

Another way that output transformers can fail is if a bypass cap on the output tube plate shorts out, putting B+ to ground via the primary winding. This will cause a burnout fairly quickly. I've seen this several times in mid-50s German tube radios.

As has been said, just about any output transformer from a scrap AA5 radio will work. The 50L6, and its cousins, probably made up more transformers manufactured in the history of mankind.
