Trying to bring this piece back to life.I've recapped, had. Bad resistor, now at least lights up and all tubes light. Can here very light hum if you turn it up, suspect issue in tuner. I've heard of issues with IF circuits . how can I check the tuner as well? The piece did have some corrosion and I want to make sure I'm not missing something. Is there a best way to clean it? Thanks

Start at the beginning of the circuit. Check your oscillator coil for an open winding. Many of these older Philco osc coils had a chemical reaction with the copper wire, causing the wire to get brittle and break on the wrapping.

:thanks, I'll check that when I get a chance. One more comment on this chassis ,it does not have any reception on either band
