The call letters were abandoned by Zenith in 1981, and picked up May 31, 1982 by Michigan City Broadcasters, Inc., who previously operated the station as "WMCB Stereo 96". 95.9 FM had begun operations in September 1966.
The station's current music format is adult contemporary and oldies daytime, smooth jazz/easy listening vocals mix evenings and overnight, and a mixture of big band/classic pop, polkas, and gospel on the weekends. The station also airs coverage of many high school, college, and pro sporting events daily, and has several talk and news programs, such as "Community Focus Sponsored by Horizon Bank" featuring Ron Miller; and "Talk of the Town" with host Dennis Metheny.[citation needed]

::You're right when you said that the station was owned by ZENITH. But that still doesn't answer what the call letters stand for. Check ZENITH history & the answer will be right in front of you. Think of the canadian cabin & reception to that cabin from CHICAGO. And I might add shortwave as another hint!! Those call letters DO mean something & were taken from a certain situation. A lot of people (including some or most ZENITH owners) don't even know what the call leters mean, or what they stand for. Check it out.
