What is meant by having to "post a message with no HTML code in it"? What is a HTML code?

If it's written in html, it will display as a webpage. A webpage can be broken down into text with files added. That is how all this can be sent down a single wire. Lots of dots and dashes now called bits and bites.

:How does a person know if they are writing in HTML? What are the signs or do they just show up & we don't see them????

Wanna see some HTML . . . just look at the top and locate the "VIEW" on Internet Explorer and Left mouse click on it and go down the OPTIONS 'til you see view and then you mouse double right click on it and BAMMMMMMMM . . . there is a whole page of the HTML of our message there.
