Does anyone know if the 6E5GT is a direct replacement for a 6X6 eye tube??

Hi Doug

The US version of 6E5 has 6 pins, base wiring 6R. However I did find a data sheet showing different versions with more pins.

Hi Doug, Yes, according to the Electronic Universal Vade-Mecum data book they are equivalent. Note the uaual 6E5 is a different tube, it has a 6 pin base and slightly different characteristics to the octal 6E5GT / 6X6.
