replacing "string" between tuner and dial Zenith Model 7H802UZ table radio

I have a nice Zenith table model radio model #7H802UZ that I could use an assist on for a repair. I turned the knob for tuning and things did not cooperate.... I found the "string/lightwieght cord" used to connect the knob to the radio dial was deteriorated and not in place. There are small wire springs on the two round "pulley" sorta pieces, but I do not know how to "thread the string for proper operation. I figure I can use some heavy duty carpet thread cord, but would like to know how to wind that. Any help out there? Thanks! John

John,
Could the model be 7H820, chassis 7E01?
If so, I can email you with the diagram.

Hi John,
Do you mean 7H820?
These have the dial in the center of the speaker.

Best Regards,

Bill Grimm
