George,
I found this schematic online, but it's not the best:

Hi Carl T, I found that one also but yours seems to be a little better quality. It is hard to make out the values on the caps and resistors. I just have two caps that I'm questioning on this radio. The ones that are in there are old Mica type caps but the one measures out as a .02 mfd and looking at a picture I have of the underside of the chassis it looks like the two were originally wax/paper caps so the .02 mfd would make sence. This radio has had a lot of hands in it and it is hard to say what is what.
The two caps in question are the one running from position 1 on the 12AT6 to the center tap on the volume control. The other one is running from position 7 on the 12AT6 to position 1 of the 50B5. Both caps in there now are Mica types with two rolls of colors, the top roll left to right are, black, black, orange, the two black ones might be unpainted. The bottom roll are green, gray, red.
Jewel model 956 is a very close match to the tube layout but the caps and resistors appear to be different than the Z477. Thank You for your help. George T

George,
This will tell you how to read the color code on your caps:

Thank You for the info. I went ahead and reinstalled the originals. The radio works OK for a short while then fades away. Tubes checked fine but the 12BE6 diode was on the weak side and the 50W4 went out so I ordered the tubes and if that doesn't fix it will start checking resistors. At least I got the power hooked up right. Sure would be nice to have a schematic but probably don't really need one to get it working properly. Best 2 U, George T

Hi, all got the radio working. It ended up that the two mica looking capacitors were .003 mfd caps. I had found a picture of the componets and in the picture they were wax/paper caps but the value wasn't shown. I also had to replace two bad resistors, Found all of the problems using an upside down can of air. The radio would fade out after a minute or two so I figured it was a heat issue. It is playing great now. Thank You for your help. George T
