Just finished recapping a bendix 526a. Electrolytics are grounded and wired properly. Tubes are all ok. Still getting a horrendous buzzing hum when turned on, even at zero volume. Wondering if the output transformer might be the problem. Thanks

Try unhooking the signal into the grid of the 50L6 tube and see if it goes away. That way you'll know if it's coming in before or after the 50L6 input.

According to the schematic, the filter caps in that radio should not be grounded to the chassis. Confirm that they are not.

This set uses a "common bus" to which the negative side of the electrolytics are connected, as opposed to chassis ground. Connecting the electrolytics to chassis ground instead of the common return bus could cause the problem that you are experiencing.
