I'm in great need of some help with my restoration. The type 50 tubes are tough to find and when I do find them they are on the expensive side ($110 for one or $250 for two on eBay). Is there any way I can use a more common type in the 50s place?

Might want to check out www.dialcover.com. Has substitutes for different scarce tube. Lists a #50.

Contact Bill Turner. He has the 50 adaptor and tube for $20.00 each.

Thanks all for the quick replies. I'm hoping to get this radio back in working order soon!

I finally got a good look at the back of the radio. The innards are completely gone. The only things that remains are the wall plugs and the motor for the phonograph. So the radio set is missing, the power supply is missing, and the speaker is missing. I've had no luck finding a set for sale anywhere, so if anyone has seen one or has one they are willing to part with, please let me know!

So you went from needing a 50 tube to missing the complete radio?

I saw the actual cabinet for the first time last night after work. My in-laws dropped it off, but I did research and such while at work. The only thing that I was told it needed for sure was tubes. I may have a lead on the rest today, but I'm still waiting to hear back about it.
