Crosley 515 Antenna

I recently bought this radio and understand it needs a "long wire" antenna. I'm not sure how long is, but as I live in an apartment in town, I don't think I can run a 50' wire out my window to the nearest tree. I found a 9v unit in an antique radio magazine which reportedly eliminates the wire using a 43" whip and, I assume, an amplifier in the base of the unit. Does anyone have any experience with this type of unit and does it work? I'd like to know your opinion before I plunk down my $40 bucks. Thanks for any help.

Hi Anthony

With the strength of todays radio stations 10 feet of wire will be ok for your radio. No need for an outside antenna.
