Guys I'm new here and my father passed away last march. He was and avid radio collector and restorer as wall as an electronics expert IMO. Anyway I'm looking for information of radio values he has in his collection. A friend appraised the radios but his books we old and I'm looking for values for some radios that were not in his books as well as double checking the values quoted. I'm the executor of my fathers estate and I'm looking to sell most of his radios and electronic equiptment.
I can post pictures and list model numbers ect. I'm somewhat familiar with electronics but not near as good as my father was.
I'm in northern Illinois if anyone might be interested.
Thanks!
Jim

Hi Jim,
Sounds like a project. I have accumulated various books which list values. Can you post a list here? If not, can you e-mail a Word or Excel listing?

Eddie I'm working on the excel sheet. I have to inventory my fathers belongings anyway. Give me till next week and I can send you the info. I have 200+ vacuum tubes also that will be on the list. Some are for TVs and radios.
Thanks
Jim

You should consider contacting the Antique Radio Club of Illinois, they will be able to help you out and have plenty of members in the northern part of the state.

Note that older price guide books are useless, overall the market is down on radios over the past several years. The best approximation of real prices are completed listings on eBay for the identical model in the same condition as yours.

You might want to just take a group of your radios to the large ARCI meet this summer and set up a table, or run them through the auction to save having to deal with packing and shipping them.

Melrose that's probabaly my best bet. There's a big show this summer. I'll try and sell some before then to some radio friends of my fathers. The problem is my father has about 50-75 radios not including test equiptment, oscilliscopes, signal generators, eico tube testors ect, ect.
One or two tables will not be nearly enough. Plus I'll have to go through them induvidually and see if they work. Most do.
