EBAY HAS A SENCORE VB2.
YEARS AGO THERE WERE COMPANYS THAT MANUFACTURED VIBRATOR TESTING UNITS.ONE MAY HAVE BEENMALLORY.IT HAS BEEN TOO LONG.DA
THE SENCORE CAN BE USED WITH OTHER TUBE TESTERS IF YOU HAVE THE CHARTS.
IN THE EARLY AUTO RADIOS THEY WERE WIDELY USED AND HAD TO BE FREQUENTLY REPLACED.I WOULD OPEN THEM,CLEAN THE CONTACTS AND REUSE THEM.
YOU CAN FIND SITES ON THE WEB TO BUID A TESTER.

: I hope I'm not violating any rules here. I need a vibrator tester as most of my collection uses them and I've tried on other sites to find one and I get zip replies. I know there's some out there as I passed them up when I didn't need them. But I've purchased a large supply of old stock units and need to test them. The type I need is one that can test all the different types,like the Mallory model. I have my own power supply so don't need that. Anybody got a spare?
:
There are vibrator testers which plug into tube testers. These testers have two lights. If lights glow evenly vibrator is good.
Do not connect a power supply directly to a vibrator. Most vibrators have a set of points across their coil. If you power the coil, points close and will burn. In a car radio a transformer will be in series with these points.

::Hi
: Thanks for the info but I have been restoring 6 and 32 volt farm radios for a while. I can't use the sencore because it only tests 3 and 4 pin vibrators, not those with up to 8 pins. Also it is no good for synchronous vibrators nor tell you if the cycles per second is in spec. For that I need the better tester. Also with that you can correctly rebuild/refurbish old vibrators. The solid state ones they build today are great, if you only need a non synchronous type or other specialty type. About 80% of the car and farm radios can benefit from these. But there are a lot of rare shelf queens out there waiting for a rare special vibrator.
