Ralph,
The model number is ALWAYS the part of the tag that is torn or missing!
We would need more to go on to positively id the radio. 7939071 is GM’s product code for several years of AM radio/8 track tape players for Chevrolet cars and trucks. It crosses to model numbers 41BPBT1 (1974, found in Sams AR-166), 51BPBT1/2 (1975, in AR-188), 51BPBT3 (1975, in AR-207), 61BPBT1 (1976, also in AR-207), 61BPBT2 (1976, in AR-256), 71APBT1 (1977, not listed in Sams, but I have it in Delco 6D-1977-1).

You may be able to ID it from the number on the printed circuit board: D8M628 (41BPBT1), D8S628 (51BPBT1/2), D9A219 (51BPBT3, and 71APBT1) . I don’t have numbers for the others.

Ralph,
1976 Chevrolet, Chevelle, Monte Carlo, and truck radio/tape model 61BPBT2. Your radio and also Buick, Olds, and Pontiac 1976 GM AM/Tape models are covered in AR-256.
