I have quite a few very large cathedrals that I would like to store properly, however I have no more room ( surprise!!) in my basement.
I have some "shrink wrap" plastic - the kind they ship material with - it comes in a roll. You basically wrap the item all around and under and over until you think you have got it covered and then store the item. Problem is that I want to store these cathedrals in my shed, which is large and ventilated but gets cold in the winter and hot in the summer.Perhaps the speaker cones wont like the environment?
Thoughts?
Thanks
Lou

Well I think I know what I want to do after thinking about it.
I am going to take the less expensive items ( a hoard of old, working color TVs, misc stuff, etc - wrap those and then keep the nice Cathdrals in the house. They are mostly Philco Model 20s which I was addicted to ( and I still am ) at one time.
Thanks
Lou
:Hi Lou,
:That wrap sounds pretty good but I would put them in a pillow case (cheap ones from Walmart) then wrap them. Pick up some of those moisture absorbers packets from Ebay and I think you can get them at Smart & Final. Throw a few of them in with the radio. Cover them with a good heavy moving blanket. That should be OK for winter but summer you have to be concerned about the knobs and dial lens and scales warping. So you might want to keep that type radio in the house. Or you could install a Air/Heating unit in the shed. Good Luck, George T

:Hi Lou, that sounds like a great plan. I've yet to own a Philco 20 and it is my favorite cathedral. I've bid on at least 100 of them, but haven't been lucky to date. I just love the style and the grill work.
:I haven't completed a radio in over a couple weeks. My parents lived in a large travel trailer and some guy T boned it a couple weeks ago and completely distroyed it beyond repair along with the shed and large canopy. My Mom in her 80's needed many stitches above her eye and my Dad fractored 2 or 3 ribs. They just moved into another trailer yesterday. We haven't stopped since it happened, we are all completely worn out to say the least but we are getting back to normal now. What a mess. Best 2 U, George T

George, sorry about the freak accident to your parents home. It must be devastating for them. I hope all works out.
