It sure would be easier to read a posting response if posters would first highlight/delete the previous text in a reply. That way a response would contain only the poster's added comment(s).

Sometimes, particularly in a long thread, the responses get so filled with text that it's a challenge to figure out where the most recent entry is.

I add the new posting on top. That way a reader can go back and see previous comments to understand the topic.

I agree that it's a nightmare trying to dig through what's current and what's not.

I like the idea of deleting ALL previous text in the response window.
Then the question/answer thread can be followed from top to bottom down the thread.

Another way is delete all except the part being responded to.

Yes, of course... but if when you open THAT and it contains a mix of the text from everything previous that was written, then it's too hard to try to figure out what's what.

Especially when some people post at the top and some post way down at the bottom :

Some of these posts are more interesting than the technical ones. My personal opinion on this matter is to add your comment at the bottom & leave all previous there. That way, one can open the bottom one & read all the way thru. DO IT THAT WAY FROM NOW ON ALL YOU PEOPLE!!!!!! :-)

WEll, I think if we could all be on the same page would be great, but that would be almost impossible
