i know the tube chart says no sub for this tube,do you know of any tube to replace this one,50a5

This is a loctal tube with no direct replacement. Closest is 35A5 with a 15 volt lower filament voltage. You could use this one but it should have resistance added in series with the filament.

By changing the tube socket the more common 50L6GT can be used. 50A5 and 50L6GT are electrically the same but require different sockets.

Although not common, 50A5 is still pretty easy to get!!
