I use the ARBE-III for my battery radios, others make up their own battery packs.

If you can find the resistance value inside the 1P1 you can sub in a resistor and still use three volts.

I wonder if a couple 1.5 volt flashlight batts in series and in series with a silicon diode or two would work: 2.4/1.8 volts??

:If you have the 1P1 tube installed with the current limiter resistor you can us two 1.5 volt batteries in series for the 3 volt filament voltage, if you have the adapter you will need two volts.

:
Tube filaments draw .36 amps. Using a 2.7 ohm series resistor with 3 volt battery will work.
