Dectector Tube

Is there a similar detector tube that can be used in place of the 112A I have for the Model 30 AK? The filament glows very dim and I'm not sure if it's good or not. My audio out is very low but all the other five 01A's check out good.

I found that if I keep my finger on the antenna post the volume will get louder or if I pass my hand close to the AFT's. Other than that you can barely hear from the speaker.

You can use a 01A tube in place of a 112A. Your radio is working like it should. Make sure the grid resistors are with in tolerance. There really is no volume control per say, filament adjustment and such.

I use a 30 foot wire whip antenna on my AK and have to wait until night to tune in good strong stations.
