I'm working on an Atwater Kent battery model and the grid leak resister for the detector tube should be 2.2 meg but reads 9.5 meg. Checking continuity it reads as an open. For all intents and purposes does the large resistance value mean it's open?

Consider it excessive not open. May be able to solder a 2.2 meg resistor underneath the clips to hide it for authenticity. Grid leak is not that critical. Anywhere from 1 Meg to 2 Meg should work.

:I have a 2.2 just in case. I wasn't sure since it's been many years since I've worked on radios...about 25 and you forget a lot in that time span. But, I do intend on getting this battery operated model back to it's former glory. Thanks for the response.
