what is the best way to gain access to the "workings" inside the catacomb? Looks like best to remove the bottom, but not sure. Melt the wax with heat gun??

:Hi! John,
We had a presentation, on this topic, at one of our radio club meetings. The guy used his outdoor propane barbecue and adjusted the temperature to around 200F degrees. He then put the catacomb in a large tin foil pan and left it in the barbecue until all the wax/pitch had melted.Looking at it from the slide presentation, he put on, it worked quite well.

:Hey John,

Here are a couple of links to copy and paste. I saw the presentation so long ago that I can't remember everything. If you mean the box pan as the bottom cover, yes from the pictures i see that comes off. To get more info just google "Radiola catacomb". Also you may have to use a higher temp than 200F degrees.
Good luck.
