A friend of mine just picked up a cute little Commodore Portable Radio model # 150 brand new in the box for $10.00. Any info out there on the year, etc? It is tube not transistor.

Sir Chuck . . . . .

I spot checked Sir Samuels Photofacts Manuals and it isn't available there.

Tell us what the tube line up in the unit is and POSSIBLY it might even have even incorporated some of the wee sized PENCIL tubes.

In the mid '50's - - - - early '60's THOSE miniscule sized tubes, permitted yet another quantum jump in mechanical downsizing, in the electronics designs time frame, just before transistors were introduced.

Are you ANYWAY familiar with EIA identifiers . . . . and even MORE importanly . . . . code dates ?

Using this referencing below, will save me some keystrokes . . . .

Get back to is with more info if you still can't fathom its age via that methodology.

Now I ask you . . . . in a pinch . . . . is it all right for a vegetarian to eat animal crackers ?.

:Ed, I only had a short look at it, but the one tube was a standard tube like a 1T4, etc. This radio is a small white plastic case about 6 in by 4.5 in. I will go back and get more info. I have never run across one like it. It was labled "Commodore De Lux" Model 150

PS: There might have only been one or two of the standard size 1 volt tubes, maybe the rest were minis.
